A Home by Ashley Whittaker

Hi there,

This Westchester, N.Y. home by Ashley Whittaker is a like a breath of fresh air.

You may recognize the living room and dining room as I used them in my moodboard on lavender and celery a while back.  Now, you can see what the rest of the house looks like.

The fresh spring colors remind me of what's ahead for us........and real soon, I hope.

Enjoy!

Carolyne Roehm's Tables and Flowers

Who does more beautiful table settings and floral arrangements than Carolyne Roehm?

I loved her table setting in Aspen where she used broccoli, kale and parsley for her table setting, and added a bunch of green apples to match her gorgeous green dishes and glassware.  Just beautiful.

I think this conservatory is actually at Weatherstone, but is a perfect example of decorating with greens - ferns and topiaries in this case.

This table setting is in Aspen where most of her fresh ingredients are picked up at the grocery store.  Beautiful!

And then I happened upon her beautiful tulip arrangements and reminder that it's time to plant our fall bulbs.  The lavender and green caught my eye!

Moodboard Monday - Lavender and Celery

Hi Everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend.

I had a busy and fun weekend working on Christmas projects.

I always enjoy the moodboards in magazines, don't you?  I picked this lavender and green board at random from Veranda and thought it might be fun to find this color combination in every day rooms, art, jewellery, fashion and nature.

We all know green is serene (easy to remember), is easy on the eyes and abundant in nature, but what does lavender represent?   Gentility, refinement and elegance and the feeling of something special.  Purple represents royalty, but lavender is the color of femininity.......a grown up pink so to speak.  And both colors are refreshing and relaxing.  Did you know that people waiting to appear on tv wait in 'Green Rooms' because it helps them to relax?  Or that a lot of hospital rooms are painted green for the very same reason?  In any case, this color combo obviously is designed to help us feel calm and very special.

I hope you enjoy and perhaps find some inspiration in the images below.......

Have a great day!
